A Call For Humility, Prayer, & Repentance
Hello Friends,
We are living in unprecedented times as Americans and as the most unique generation in all of human history. We are the first generation to be alive that is a globally connected generation, with all nations connected and experiencing circumstances at the same time. We are all watching current events playing out and feeling the challenges at the same time. We are aware of the circumstances of our neighbors across the globe because of technology and a world-wide media voice. We have all been impacted by the "c-v" pandemic.
As a Christian who has studied many of the Bible prophecies and is seeking to discern the current events through the paradigm of scripture, I have found that Matthew 24 and 25 speaks the clearest picture and gives the most detailed insights for where we find ourselves in the timeline of human history. Jesus said that the generation who would be alive to discern all of the signs and trends laid out in this teaching would be the generation who would see and welcome Christ back to Earth at His second coming and remaining.
Consider what Jesus lays out for that final generation:
Global deception
False 'Hope-Givers' attempting to serve as Saviors
Wars and Rumors of Wars across the Earth
Factions of people seeking to divide the masses based on races
Governments divided against other governments across the Earth
Global food shortages, viruses & diseases, and earthquakes in unexpected places
Global persecution of Jews & Christians
Growing offense in many hearts, betrayal of close loved ones, hatred of one another
An increase in successful false prophets, seeking to deceive as many people as possible
Global lawlessness
God-fearing, Christ-loving people will struggle to maintain a tender heart of love for God and people
The Good News of God's Leadership and Love will cover the Earth as a witness to Christ's soon return
(Summarizing Matthew 24:3-14)
These are all descriptions of events and trends to occur just prior to the Bible's description of the Great Tribulation of God's judgement on sin, wickedness, and Satan's kingdom. Regardless of your understanding of the timing of the rapture of the Church of Jesus into the sky to meet Him, these descriptions will unfold prior to the rapture and Christ's appearance in the sky for all eyes to see (Mt. 24:30). Endurance is required! A steady heart is imperative! A sure understanding and discerning of Holy Spirit's voice to lead us through "the valley of the shadow of death" is a must!
I will be participating in a 7-day fast, Sunday, August 29 to Saturday, September 4, 2021. I want to invite you to join me and many others as we seek the Lord for a personal awakening and a clear understanding and discerning of the signs of the times and a prepared heart to walk with Jesus in the greatest and most exciting days ahead for the Church of Christ Jesus. Here are a couple of verses to consider for this fasting focus:
1 Chronicles 12:23, 32 'Now these were the numbers of the divisions that were equipped for war, and came to David at Hebron to turn over the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord : 32 of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command; '
Psalm 110:3 Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power; in the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth.
Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
Let us ask for God's great outpouring on His global Church, especially the Church of Jesus in America.
