The International House of Prayer-Miami started on Sunday, March 9, 2008 in a little conference room inside of a women's Christian Pregnancy Center. We started with a group of 7 of us worshiping and praying for two hours in English. Then, two weeks later, we started two-hours of worship and prayer in Spanish. Those weekly four hours of worship & prayer continue and over time, a prayer meeting became growing and thriving Church Family who has now become God's House of Prayer, in the Biblical expression of David's Tabernacle and God's description in Isaiah 56:7. But, the story actually began way before March 9, 2008.
I remember Holy Spirit quickening my heart at age 10 years old while in my Sunday School class. Our teacher was going around the room to ask us what we like about church and about Jesus. My response was simple and I felt the weight my words without clarity as to why. I said something like, “I love being in church and I don’t think I will ever leave His house.” I began to tear up as I said it. In essence, I was declaring Psalm 27:4 and didn’t even know it.
